Welcome to the Marco Polo Quilters Guild website. Whether you are a beginner to quilting, an expert in the field, or consider yourself somewhere in between, we hope you will find something of interest to you here.
Located in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, our members (there are currently 94 of us) run the gamut in skill levels, from bright-eyed beginners to experienced fabric artists. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about how we can work together to accomplish your quilting goals. Simply click on (Contact Us )to find out how to reach us.
The Carleton Community Center, on Saint John's West Side, is currently our home base. Our guild meets regularly (see Events) the first Wednesday evening of each month, at 7pm. We include Show and Tell (for examples, see Archives ), and a new program each time. We add a section for Guild Business in January, and again in May. Our December meeting is our Christmas dinner, which has been held at Silver Falls United Church over the past several years. Great food, and good times are enjoyed by all who attend. Our year ends with a Saturday picnic, in June (for an update on the latest picnic, click HERE).
Each Thursday, from 10am until 2pm, we meet at the Carleton Community Center for Quilters Cove (see Events here, too). This group gives all who attend the opportunity to work on whatever projects that they have on the go at the time. Questions are asked, things are learned, and friendships are made and strengthened.
We have a library of quilting books that are available to all guild members for borrowing. The library is open at each monthly meeting, as well as during Quilters Cove gatherings. With more than 50 titles on hand, there is sure to be something to catch your fancy.
